| Tedman L. Vance MD |
|
Tedman L. Vance, MD is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and fellowship trained in orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgery. He earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of New Mexico and doctorate of medicine from Louisiana State University – New Orleans. He graduated with Honors in medicine and returned to the University of New Mexico were he did his orthopaedic surgery residency ('99). Following residency he served in the United States Navy at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The majority of his practice at Camp Lejeune was Sports Medicine, Trauma and activity-related problems in young athletic patients. He went on to complete a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Duke University ('03-04), and then served as active-staff at the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) - Bethesda, MD. At NNMC he was primarily responsible for caring for and managing upper extremity injuries in service members returning from in the war in the Middle-East.
Doctor Vance grew up in Springfield, Illinois, but spent most summers on their family farm in Mississippi. He played one year of collegiate football as a walk-on (UNM), and also has a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from LSU ('88).
